Dear friends and supporters,
This December I finally had the privilege to meet our students. Although I have been working with them directly, I didn’t have a chance to meet them until now.
Our students are attending schools in different areas of BiH (Bosnia and Herzegovina). My visit was short but I managed to visit each city and spend some time with the students.

My first visit was to Banjaluka where we have one student. December is a time when all of them are preparing for midterms and still going to classes. Sanja spent couple of hours with me and I have to say that she is very happy with her classes so far. She has most of her midterms in January and she is confident that there will be no problems. She is working as a volunteer in an orphanage where she lives and says that she likes working with children.
Nermina goes to college in Zenica and she is also working as a volunteer there. She lives in a student dorm but always finds time to visit orphanage and teach little kids English. Nermina is happy with the choice of her major (English language) and ready for the upcoming exam season. This January will be a busy time for her.
Azra, Esma and Edib are in Sarajevo. They don’t live too close to each other, so they don’t meet very often. All three are busy with their classes and some already took their exams. As it was expected, they all passed with flying colors. This is a very inspiring group of students and I am very confident that they will make us proud. They have been looking into volunteering options and at this point Azra confirmed that she will work in an orphanage where she grew up, and Esma will probably try to help in the same orphanage. Edib has a project in mind as well, but he is still working on the details. They are taking their obligations seriously and trying very hard to meet all the expectations. This is a new way of life for most of these students and besides studying they are also trying to get used to the new city ad new friends.
Edin Serifovic, Edin Avdic and Muhamed are in Tuzla. I got there fairly late and it took a while to find a place where I will meet with them. Edin Avdic even had the exam at the time of my arrival. All three of them are living together and I was able to spend some time and visit the house where they live. It is a very nice house and in the back they have Internet cafe, where they can use computers and volunteer as well. Internet access is very important since that is how we communicate and exchange information. This group is very lucky to have it right next door and free. Exams started in Tuzla as well, and they are busy studying and preparing for the midterms. These students appreciate the help they are getting and, as the rest of the group, are very serious about their obligations. They have started volunteering at the orphanage and also looking for other places where they can help. All students are required to volunteer 10 hours per month, preferably in orphanages and help in any way they can. The position they will get depends on the supervisor in the orphanage. Some are helping in administration, or teaching or just spending time with the younger children.
This year’s group of students is amazing and I am very proud and privileged to be able to help them. I am sure that they will finish their studies and become important and respected man and women in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They will make us proud.
Bosana Foundation had a donation for organization “Women Victims of War”. I met with their representative and delivered laptop, printer and cartridges. This donation should help make their work easier. This might seem like a small gift but women in this organization were enormously grateful. They are interested in working with our organization on future projects.
I hope that this update about the current status of students founded by Bosana Foundation will encourage you in your support of our organization. Your donations are making a real difference in the lives of these students. Students supported by Bosana Foundation take their commitments seriously, and are dedicated to service and volunteerism to make their communities better.
Together we can make a difference and help change the world, one child at a time. To continue supporting Bosana Foundation click here.
Thank you on behalf of Bosana Foundation and our students.
