Selma Gabela was born on December 31, 2001, in Goražde. She is 18 years old.
She spent the first part of her childhood in her hometown, Goražde, but soon her parents got divorced. After that, she moved to Tuzla with her mother and younger sister Edita to live with her mother's parents. She finished elementary school "Mramor" in Mramor near Tuzla.
As an elementary school student, she participated in many extracurricular activities and was the president of the Student Council. After primary school, Selma decides to enroll in the Secondary School of Economics and Trade in Tuzla.
„High school was a wonderful period of my life, during which I met many new people, made new friends.“-says Selma.
In addition to many competitions in which she participated, she achieved the most success in bookkeeping. Besides all obligations, she also had time to hang out with friends, which is very important to her. After finishing high school, she considers whether to enroll in college, because of the financial situation and mother's health condition.
Selma did not want to give up her dreams so she got an offer from aunt to live with her and go to the faculty in Sarajevo. She enrolled at the University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Economics. In the meanwhile, she found out about our scholarship program and decided to apply.
Although she did not receive a scholarship, Selma accepted to be part of our professional development program in the hope she will find her place in the foundation and with her hard work manage to get scholarship next year.
„I hope that this state of the epidemic will pass soon and I look forward to making friends and meeting other Bosana students. In my free time, I like to read, spend time in nature with friends and I love animals very much. I also love to travel and meet new people.“-says Selma.
