A Night to Remember: Bosana Annual Benefit Returns to Los Angeles

After six years, Bosana Foundation returned to Los Angeles for its Annual Benefit - bringing together a community that has believed in our mission for the past 16 years.

The evening was more than a celebration. It was a reminder of what is possible when people come together around a shared belief: that education can change lives, and that every student deserves the opportunity to build their future.

From the moment guests arrived, there was a feeling of coming home. Supporters, sponsors, alumni, students, and friends of Bosana gathered to celebrate the journeys made possible through this community.

Together, we raised $97,351 - and counting to support Bosana students and their educational paths. While this number represents an incredible milestone, the true impact of the evening can be found in the stories behind it - in every student who receives support, earns a degree, and goes on to create change in their own communities.

The Power of One Opportunity

One of the most inspiring moments of the evening was hearing from Anela Hujdurović, a former Bosana scholarship recipient.

Today, Anela is a Master of Genetics and the founder of the first genetic counseling center in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Standing in front of the Bosana community in Los Angeles, she shared her journey and reflected on the support, mentorship, and encouragement that helped shape her path.

Her story is exactly why Bosana exists - because one opportunity can become a lifelong impact.

A Celebration Built Around Community

The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, shared memories, and music that connected everyone in the room.

The musical program “Songs We Remember,” led by Music Director Hari Muhić, brought the spirit of our shared heritage to life with performances by talented musicians Marko Danilovski, Jakov Naumoski, Ilija Mihalović, Lorenzo Breda, Almer Imamović, Pavle Zvekić, Paul Reinhold, and Willem Jochems.

The celebration continued with an unforgettable after-party by Nebuloza, who brought incredible energy and helped us close the evening in the best possible way.

A special thank you to the talented musicians who made the night even more memorable: Nirvan Pištoljević (Vocal & Guitar), Nedžad “Johnny” Osmanagić (Guitar), Zel Pehar-Pleho (Keyboard), Sasha Panich “Meksiko” (Cajón Box), and Ljiljana Lukić (Back Vocal).

Their music created the perfect ending to a night filled with connection, celebration, and gratitude.

Celebrating the People Behind Bosana

This year’s Annual Benefit also marked an important new chapter for Bosana Foundation as Slađana Šaldić officially stepped into the role of Executive Director.

Slađana’s journey with Bosana began years ago as a volunteer and supporter. Through the years, she has continued to contribute to the mission as a fundraiser, Advisory Council member, and dedicated member of our community. We are excited to welcome her leadership as Bosana continues to grow.

During the evening, we also honored Ajlana Osmanagić, Bosana’s Program Director, with the Bosana Do-Gooders Award in recognition of her 16 years of dedication to supporting students and advancing opportunities for young people.

The Story Continues

The Annual Benefit was a celebration of everything the Bosana community has built together - but it was also a reminder that there is still more to do.

Every scholarship, every opportunity, and every student journey begins with someone choosing to believe in what is possible.
